Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX we'll be test fitting the Yakima Stick Up platform style 2 bike rack, part #Y02420. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and then tighten it with a wrench. With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 17 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 5 inches away, and we've added about 13 inches to the overall length of our vehicle.
We'll now go ahead and pull the red knob at the base of the bike rack and tilt the platform down. With the platform down you can see that we can easily access the rear hatch. To load up a bike, we'll raise the frame hooks to the top of the mast, and we'll fold the mast up by pulling out the red knob at the base of it. We'll then undo the tray strap and place our bike into the wheel trays. We'll bring the frame hook down and clamp it tightly against the frame, securing the back tire with the strap. Now we'll go ahead and check for clearance access.
We'll use the same knob in which we used to tilt the platform down to tilt it down into second position. As you can see we can easily access the rear hatch with the bike loaded up. That will complete today's test fit for the Yakima Stick Up, part #Y02420, on our 2012 Cadillac SRX. .
