Review of the Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Bike Rack on a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Today were working with a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe, and were going to be test fitting a Yakima Stickup Two hitch mounted bike carrier, part number Y02420. To mount this carrier to our vehicle well insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Well line up our hitch pin hole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it down with a wrench. Next well go some clearance measurements. Weve got about 11 inches of ground clearance from the bottom of the bike rack to the ground. Weve got about a half inch of clearance between the closest part of the bike rack and the carrier.

Weve added about 12 inches of overall length to the vehicle with the carrier folded up. Now we want to check for rear vehicle access. Well grab the pull pin at the base of the rack and fold it down flat. We want to make sure that we can still open our cargo door and access the area, even with the bike rack installed. To load our bike well grab the pull pin at the upright mast and tilt it up.

Well make sure to extend the ratcheting hooks all the way out. We also want to make sure that the wheel strap is open. Now well go over a couple more measurements, then well be ready to load our bike. With the bike carrier folded down weve added about 31 inches of length to the rear of the vehicle. Well pick up our bike and place it in the cradles, securing it first by the frame with the hook.

Then well use the wheel strap to secure the rear wheel. With that done, our bikes all loaded up and were ready to hit the road. Thats it for our test fit of the Yakima Stickup Two hitch mounted bike carrier, part number Y02420 on our 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe. .
