Today on our 2007 Dodge Charger, we'll be testing the Yakima Round Crossbar Roof Racking System, Part Numbers Y00409, Y00699, Y00683 and Y00124. Now, with the roof rack already assembled, we'll go ahead and open the front driver side and passenger side door and set the front crossbar on to the vehicle. We will then check the Yakima fit guide for the included instructions to determine the measurement from the front part of the glass to the first part of the q tower. Our measurement is 8 inches. We'll measure the passenger side, first part of the glass to the first part of the tower, 8 inches then we'll move to the other side where we will do the same. We need to make sure that we get the crossbar perpendicular to the vehicle to ensure the tower gets a good fit to th vehicle.
Once we have established its position, we'll go ahead and clamp it down and secure the crossbar to the vehicle. With our front crossbar secured to the vehicle, we'll now go ahead and install our rear crossbar. We'll open the doors of the passenger and driver's side rear of the vehicle, set the crossbar on to the roof, and measure our crossbar spread. This measurement is important when choosing after-market accessories, so we refer to the Yakima fit guide or the included instructions, we'll get a measurement of 32 inches. We'll do this for the driver's side and passenger side of the vehicle to make sure that the crossbars are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the vehicle.
Once we have established this position, we'll go ahead and clamp the towers down and secure them to the vehicle, and that completes today's test fit for the Yakima Round Crossbar Roof Racking System, Part Numbers Y00409, Y00699, Y00683 and Y00124 on our 2007 Dodge Charger.
