Review of the Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack on a 2008 Subaru Outback

Today on our 2008 Subaru Outback, well be test fitting the Yakima Front Loader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, part number Y02103. With our Subaru already equipped with the factory crossbars and our bike rack already pre-assembled, were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well simply set the bike rack on top of the crossbars. Well clamp the front head into place using the wing nut on the front of the bike rack. Well also make sure that the rear clamp is in place and secure it down to the rear crossbar. With the front clamp tightened around the front crossbar and the rear clamp tightened around the rear crossbar, our bike rack is now secured to the vehicle and were ready to load our bike.

Well first need to open up the front wheel loop. Well also need to move the rear tire strap out of the way. Then well simply put the bike on top of the bike rack and roll it forward into the front loop. Youll notice as it rolls forward that the rear loop will move up towards the front tear. We can then tie it down using the red knob located just behind the rear bar.

With the front tire secured, we can move to the back tire. And with the mount strap, well simply tighten it down to the bike rack. And just like that our bike is loaded and were ready to hit the road. And that completes our test of the Yakima Front Loader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, part number Y02103 on our 2008 Subaru Outback.

I have a 2008 Subaru Outback with a Yakima rooftop bike rack. While driving I lost the red knob behind the rear bar. I need this part. How can I order this?

Can you attach two bike carriers to the same car.

Yes, multiple bike racks can be attached. Be sure not to exceed the weight limit of the roof rack. Both the bikes and the carriers will count against the total weight capacity of the roof. See the vehicle owners manual for info on the roof rack capacity.
