Review of the Yakima DoubleDown Ace Hitch Bike Rack on a 2013 Ford Escape

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Yakima Doubledown Ace Four Bike Carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number y02451. Now to begin our test fit, weve already gone ahead and installed the two inch adapter included with the bike rack, so well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install the attached hitch pin. We can then move to the back of the shank and tighten down the knob securing the anti-rattle device as well as the bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements, our ground clearance here at the bike rack measures 11-1/4 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is four and a quarter inches. Well now pull the pin here at the back of the mask which will allow us to tilt the mask down and open the cargo door. As you can see with this bike rack secured to the vehicle we can still gain access to our cargo area.

Well now pull the switch here at the top of the mask and bring out the dual arms where well undo the straps to expose our cradles. Well place the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around securing our bike to the bike rack. There you have it our bike is loaded and were ready to head on down the road. That completes our test fit of the Yakima Doubledown Ace Four Bike Carrier, part number y02451 on our 2013 Ford Escape.
