Review of the Yakima DoubleDown Ace 2 Bike Rack on a 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche

Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche we'll be test fitting the Yakima Doubledown Ace 2-Bike Carrier, part number y02450. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of our carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up the pin hole, and install our pin. Now we'll go ahead and go over some clearance measurements. We have a ground clearance of 16 inches. The closest part of the carrier to the rear of the vehicle is 5 1/2 inches. With the bike carrier in the folded position, we've added 11 inches to the overall length of our vehicle.

Now we'll go ahead and pull the pin with the red knob at the base of our carrier to allow our carrier to tilt. We can easily gain access to the cargo area of our vehicle without it making contact with our bike carrier. Now we'll go ahead and put our bike carrier back in its loading position, and pull the lever at the top of the carrier to swing out our dual arms. With these extended we've added about 26 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and undo the cradle straps to expose our cradles, grab our bike, place it in the frame cradles and secure it by the straps.

Now our bike is all loaded up and we're ready to hit the road. That completes todays test fit of the Yakima Doubledown Ace 2-Bike Carrier, part number y02450 on our 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche.
