Today on our 2008 Acura RDX were going to be test fitting a Whispbar roof rack system by Yakima. Well be using the S26 flush bars, part number WB-S26 as well as the fit kit for the RDX, part number WB-K490. We already have our roof rack assembled according to the instructions, so now were ready to mount the bars up on the roof. The first thing we need to do is open the passenger and drivers side front doors. Well set our front cross bar up into place and well check the measurements in our instructions to position it properly. We need to measure seven and seven-eighths inches forward from the seam between the two doors to the center line of our front crossbar.
Once weve got this set on both sides of the vehicle well make sure our rubber pads and clips are in position and we can go ahead and tighten them down. Well move back and forth from passengers side to drivers side to make sure we tighten down those bolts evenly. Next well put up our rear bar. Again well open the passenger and drivers side doors in the rear and set our bar up on top of the roof. This time we need to measure 19 11/16 inches back from the seam between the doors to the center line of our crossbar.
Again, once we have it in position well repeat the same tightening procedure that we used in front. Now well make sure that both bars are secure on our vehicle and we can reinstall our locking covers. Now were ready to mount accessories to our roof rack.
