How to Install a Wesbar 4-Pole Flat Connector

Today on our enclosed trailer, we are going to be installing the Wesbar 4-pole flat connector which jack and a cable, part# W787264. We are going to begin here by removing the old 4-flat that is on this trailer. We are just going to cut it out of the way as we won't be reusing any of the old wiring. We are going to be wiring the 4 wires here into this junction box that is already mounted onto the trailer, and the other end will route up towards the jack area of the trailer. We will go ahead and remove the cover of the box. Next we are going to go ahead and take our 4 wires here and feed it through the grommet here on the box. We'll go ahead and strip back a little wire from each of the 4 and add in our ring terminal. We'll need to go ahead and add them to the appropriate stud.

We'll be matching up color per color. Next, we are going to install this little bracket here with these 2 screws to make sure that this wire doesn't move in and out of our junction box. Once our screws are in place, we'll go ahead and tighten them down. Now we will go ahead and put the cover back on the box, take the other end of our 4-flat here and pull it up towards the jack area, and then we're going to use a couple loom clamps to secure the wire to the trailer frame. The loom clamp we will be using is part# A0500. Now that we have our wires secure, we'll go ahead and plug it into our tester.

Now if you don't have a tester, you can just use your tow vehicle to check to make sure everything is working properly. Now we will go ahead and turn on our running light circuit. Next we will go ahead and try the left blinker. Now we will go ahead and move over to the right side blinker. Now we will go ahead and check the brakes. That will do it for the installation of the Wesbar 4-pole flat trailer connector, part# W787264 on our enclosed trailer.
