How to Install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness on a 2017 Kia Sedona

Today on our 2017 Kia Sedona. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt 00:00:05 T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for a factory tow package with a four point flat trailer connector, that's going to be part number C56332. Here's what our wiring looks like once we have it fully installed. It is design to stay on the outside of the vehicle close by your hitch so it's there when we hook up. It's going to provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector, so we have all the required lights to get down the road, like our taillights, turn signals, and our brake lights. The nice thing about our wiring is it is plug and play.

We're not going to have to cut or splice any wires, we're just going to simply plug in two plugs underneath the driver's side. Our wiring is going to be fuse protected so if anything we're to arise on the trailer end, it's going to prevent any kind of back feeding and prevent overloading our circuits. Now that we've seen what our wiring looks like and gone over some of the features, let's show you how easy it is to get installed. To begin our installation we're going to want to come to the back end of our Sedona, and on the driver's side right behind the tire is where we're going to be making our connections. Your Sedona my have a plastic panel that's right here, but we had to remove ours to install our hitch. If your panel is still there, you're going to want to pull out the push pins that are holding it in place, so we can get access to these two plugs back here.

We'll go ahead and pull the covers off. There's a small tab on the black one, we'll press in and we can slide it off. On the one up top, that tab is going to be on the outside, so we'll reach around, press in, and slide the tab off. We can grab our wiring harness now, and we're going to have two connectors on there as well. We're just going to plug them in where we took those caps off of, make sure they lock into place, give it a quick tug, then we'll plug in the other one.

Now this one you want to make sure the tab is in the same location as when we took it off. We'll take our included 10 amp fuse, we're going to put it in the fuse holder, we can close it up. Then we're going to want to route our four pole wire towards the center of our hitch and find a spot that we can mount our converter box. Along the edge here, towards the center, we're going to have a few push pin fasteners. If we remove those we can actually tuck the wire behind it and secure everything back there. We removed those two push pins and we routed our wire underneath the plastic here.

Right where those push pins are, there's actually two arms that support that fatia 00:02:51, so we zip tied our box to that arm right here.If you're having trouble getting your zip tie in there, our kit is going to come with some double sided foam tape. You can actually put the box and just secure it directly to the plastic here. We can just tuck our excess wire behind the plastic here, and then we can put our push pins back in place. Whenever we're we're not using our wiring, we can use the dust cover to hook it on to the safe chain loop, so it'll keep it from dragging the ground. I went ahead and hooked up my four pole testers so we can make sure that all the circuits are working properly. If you need one of these, you can pick on up here at etrailer.com, using part number I26. We can see that my taillight function is working as well as the left turn signal, the right turn signal, and my brakes. With all of the lights working all we have left to do is hook up to our trailer and hit the road. That'll finish up your look at the Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for a factory tow package, part number C56332 on our 2017 Kia Sedona.
