How to Install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness on a 2015 Ram 2500

Today on our 2015 Ram 2500, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow package. What's really great about this kit, is it plugs directly into your truck's factory tow package. Now this is going to give us the capability to plug into a 4-pole connector or if we already have one, give us an additional one. Like this customer's situation, he already has an OEM 4-way, however he's wanting to add a light bar so we need another 4-pole connector. Now this is going to give us all our necessary lighting functions, including running lights, turn signals, and of course your brake lights. Now it's going to give us plenty of length to connect anything that we might have, and it's also going to have this loom on it, to help keep that factory look. Also the dust cap, this will help keep out any contaminants, and help from our terminals getting damaged.

It also serves as a hook because when you're not using it, you can put it on your hitch, loop it around and plug it back in, that way it's stored nice and out of the way.Now that we've gone over some of the features, we'll show you how easy it is to get installed. To begin our install, I went ahead and removed our spare tire, just to give us a little more room to work. All right, we're going to need to disconnect our factory 7-way connector. In order to do that we need to remove this gray tab, this is a keeper tab. How we do that is we'll pull it towards us, and once these two tabs up top release, you can pull it straight up and through all the wires.

Once that's out of the way there's a tab right here, push in with your finger and pull the connector out. All right, our next step is going to be to put some dielectric grease on our terminals, that way we can prevent any type of corrosion. Once that's done we can take our new harness, and simply just plug it in.Now, kind of a trick, if your gray keeper was taped onto your harness, it can be difficult to position it back through all the wires with it still taped on. So what I did, I just cut the tape, removed the keeper, I'll go ahead and reinstall this, and just re-tape it back into place. Now this end we can plug back in to our factory plug up here, but before we do that we'll add some more dielectric grease.

Now I went ahead and used a couple zip ties just to hold everything in place nice and tight, while leaving enough wire to connect anything that we might have. Now with everything hooked up, you want to test it to make sure everything is working properly. Right here we're going to be using this tester, if you need one you can find one on etrailer.com, or you could just hook up to a trailer and test it that way. But first we're going to hit our brakes, now we're going to hit our left turn signal, our right turn signal, and finally our running lights. And that'll do it for our look at, and installation of the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow package, on our 2015 Ram 2500.
