How to Install a Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2011 Cadillac SRX

Today on our 2011 Cadillac SRX well be installing the Tow Ready replacement OEM tow package wiring harness, part number 118259. To install the wiring well be connecting with the manufacturers plug. Note that this wiring install is a replacement of the OEM tow package wiring harness with a four pole flak. When installing your wiring in conjunction with the hitch its recommended to install the wiring first as the hitch will block your access to the manufacturers connector. To install the wiring well first remove the manufacturers weather cap by pulling back on the connector lock and removing the cap. Then we can take our new wiring harness and plug in line with the manufacturers connector.

Then once you complete installing your hitch you can route it down to the hitch or accessory. First well go ahead and attach the four pole flat bracket, part number 18144, to the universal mounting bracket, part number 18140, using the hardware provided with our install kit. Now with the two attached well go ahead and bring the bracket to the vehicle and install the four pole plug into the bracket and secure it in place. Then well put the cover over the four pole. Next well take the worm clamp provided with our universal mounting bracket and secure the bracket to the hitch.

Feed the clamp through the hole in the universal mounting bracket, around the hitch and back to the attachment point of the clamp. Thatll complete our installation of the Tow Ready replacement OEM tow package wiring harness, part number 118259, on our 2011 Cadillac SRX.
