How to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo

Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Aveo well be installing Curt Hitch part number 11331.Before we start with our install here are a few measurements. These measurements will help you when selecting accessories such as a cargo carrier or bike rack. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 11 inches. And from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most part of the bumper is 5 and 1/2 inches. Now well go ahead with our install. Now to begin our installation well remove the spare tire trunk insert. Once weve removed the insert we can locate the 2 body plugs at the rear of the trunk that well need to remove.

Once we've removed it we place the 1-3/4 carriage bolt and large square spacer into the hole. Remember when putting the carriage bolt and spacers in youll need to the silicon or cork around the flange knots to seal the trunk area. We can then move underneath the vehicle.Underneath the vehicle we will fit the square spacer with the offset hole into the toelid. We are then ready to put our hitch in the position. It would be a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you hold the hitch in place while we install our hardware.

Youll need to be careful not to push the hardware back in to the trunk as we fit it in to place. Now that our hardware is installed we can go ahead and tighten it down and torque it to specification as indicated in the instructions. And with all our bolts torque to specification we can reinstall the trunk insert which will complete our installation of Curt Hitch part number 11331 on our 2011 Chevrolet Aveo.
