All right, today on this 2004 Buick Rendezvous, were going to install part number 75430 from Draw-Tite. All right, this is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the vehicle. Next well give you some measurements thatll help out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down the ground will be about 13-1/4 inches. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper will be about 5-1/2 inches. Now Ill go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. Before we install the hardware, well show how it looks on the hitch. Youll see you have the bolt and blocks will be inside the frame and then go through the hitch and on the bottom of the hitch, youll have the conical tooth washers and nuts.
Now this will be for the fasteners that go towards the front of the vehicle and into the existing holes at the bottom of the frame. Now the other two holes, well show the hardware that is right below bumper. Well use the bolt, the flat washer and then itll go through a drilled hole in the frame, then itll go through a drilled hole in the bumper and then the other side will get the lock washer and nut. All right, lets go ahead and start installing the hardware into the frame of the vehicle. There are two oval holes. To install the hardware well use a bolt leader, now it does not come with the kit.
This is part number 80101-1. Well thread in our block, well push it in the frame and then well go ahead and thread on our bolt and push it into the frame and pull it back through. All right, for our second bolt, well go ahead and pre-assemble the bolt, the block and the bolt leader. Well put one part in at a time into the frame and then pull it back through the same hole. Were done on our passenger side and now well go ahead and do the same thing over on the driver side.
All right, at this point we can go ahead and start installing the hitch. With an extra set of hands, well go ahead and slide the hitch over the exhaust tube and then up the frame where the bolts are. Now we want to make sure that the hitch sets up behind the bottom edge of the bumper structure. All right, well go ahead and loosen the installer hardware on each side with the conical tooth washer and nut and you also want to make sure that the teeth on the conical tooth washer always face towards the hitch. With all the hardware loosely installed, well go ahead and snug up the hitch against the frame, but not tighten it fully.
Now well go ahead and use the hitch to the template, drill out the holes for our hardware that goes through the end panel at the very bottom. Well use a 3/8 inch drill bit and drill our holes from the inside out. All right, then well go ahead and install our hardware. From the outside to the inside well install the bolt, the flat washer and on the other side the lock washer and nut. With all our hardware loosely installed, then we go ahead and tighten down all of the bolts and then torque them down as specified in the instructions. Thatll finish it for our install of part number 75430 from Draw-Tite on our 2004 Buick Rendezvous. .
