How to Install the TracRac TracONE Truck Bed Ladder Rack on a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at and installing the Track Rack Track One Truck Bed Ladder Rack, part number TA27000-01 in silver. It is also available in black, using part number TA27000B. So, here's what our ladder rack looks like on our truck. It's designed to carry ladders, or any other large equipment that you can't fit in the bed of your truck. Features an aerodynamic design, and the elliptical crossbars are gonna cut down a lot of the wind noise and drag that are commonly associated with ladder racks. It also has an 800 lb weight capacity. It also comes with four tie-downs that are fully adjustable in our T track here. Simply loosen them up by turning them to the left, then we can slide our tie-down anywhere along our track and then to lock it down simply tighten it down by turning it to the right.

It's made out of aluminum, so it's going to be strong and durable, and along with the powder coat finish, it's gonna be rustproof. Features a no-drill application and it's gonna use C clamps to attach to our bedrail. Now that we've gone over some of the features, let's show you how easy it is to get it installed. So, we already have one piece of our ladder rack installed, let's go ahead and show you how we get the other piece on. We're gonna go ahead and take it, we're gonna loosely place it in the general spot that we want to mount it at. Now, if we come to our vertical post here, and we look up, we're gonna have two alan bolts that are gonna hold it in place. Now, I'm gonna use the 7/32 alan to loosen them a little bit, that way I can even up my spread and make sure it sits nicely on my truck bed. With that loose we can take our vertical support here, and we can slide it all the way to the outside, making sure that we put it up against our truck bed, then we check the other side and make sure it's nice and square. And, with everything adjusted, we can come back to those alan bolts and we can tighten them up.

Now, the way that we're gonna attach this, is we're gonna use a C style clamp. So, if we get our clamp in place we can put out T plate on and loosely tighten up the bolt, just so we have enough tension to keep the T plate from falling off. Now, each side of our ladder rack is gonna use two clamps per side. We're gonna go and install the rest of our clamps. And, on each side when you put these clamps on, there's no exact spot that you need to put them, but you want to put them as far apart from each other that you can. When our clamp's loosely in place we can come back, and using a 7/32 alan we can tighten up our bolts. With this side done we can go to repeat the same process and put our two clamps on the other side.

Now, with all of our clamps in place and our ladder tied down, we're ready to hit the road. And, that'll finish up the look at the Track Rack Track One Truck Bed Ladder Rack, part number TA27000-01 on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.
