How to Install the Tow Ready 4-Pole Mounting Bracket on a 2012 Honda Odyssey
Now today on our 2012 Honda Odyssey, we'll be installing the tow ready mounting bracket for a 4 pole flat, part number 18144. This vehicle here already has a 4 pole flat installed as well as a trailer hitch receiver. Currently the 4 pole flat is just looped through the safety chain eyelet on the trailer hitch. We're going to go ahead and install the tow ready 4 pole mounting bracket that will get the wiring away from the safety chain loop. As well as keep it a little more secure and protect it. Now in conjunction with the 4 pole flat mounting bracket we're also going to be using the tow ready no-drill mounting bracket in the short style, part number 18140. We'll begin here by connecting the two brackets together with the supplied screw and nut in the two mounting locations.
We'll go ahead and tighten them down. Next, we'll go ahead and take our full pole flat and feed it through the large opening in the short no-drill mounting bracket. Once we have that done we'll push it through the full pole flat bracket so that it's secure in it. We'll go ahead and feed our hose clamp around the receiver tube of the hitch and go through the bracket and then we'll go ahead and tighten that down. Once we have the hose clamp tightened down we'll go ahead and snip off any excess using a pair of tin snips. When not in use simply plug the dust cover back over the top of your 4 pole flat then just through the mounting bracket. That's all there is to it to installing the tow ready mounting bracket with the 4 pole flat, part number 18144, on our 2012 Honda Odyssey.
