How to Install the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains on a 2015 Infiniti QX70

Today on our 2015 Infiniti QX70 we're gonna be installing the Titan Chain alloy snow tire chains with a diamond pattern and square links. With these tire chains installed on the QX70 it'll get much better traction in the snow and ice. Now the smaller links will help provide a smooth and quiet ride and there are also a D shape. Now, the what the D shaped does is allows more contact area, which will help bite into that snow and ice. They form a diamond pattern on the tire, which helps get more tire coverage. They are made out of a corrosion resistant manganese nickel alloy, which combats rust and help keep them in like new condition. Now, these tire chains are SAE class S chains, which means are specifically designed for vehicles with not a whole lot of wheel well clearance. As you can see here, there's more than enough room to not be concerned. It's a really nice all in one kit.

It's very easy to install and everything is integrated. That way we don't lose anything or have to worry about something coming off while we're going down the road. Now, each kit comes with two chains, very heavy duty carrying case, some nice instructions. Now that we've gone over some of the features, we'll go ahead and show you how to install these chains. Now, it's always a good idea to check your vehicles owners manual to give you some guidance on where to install them. Our Infiniti's owner's manual here recommends that we only install them on the rear axle. So that's what we're going to do.Now, first thing you want to do is take your chains out of here carrying case and just lay them out like this and inspect them.

Make sure we have no kinks or knots in the chain. It looks like we're all good here, so let's go ahead and get them installed. All right, now what we're gonna do is grab onto the ends. I like to start with the end that is just black here, not the yellow end. It's a little easier to get wrapped around the tire. Push that around.

Just try to center. So, once this red link here as exposed, you're pretty close. Just going to try to straighten everything out a little bit.All right, so now we'll grab our two ends, connect them like so, they just kind of slip onto each other, and start working the chain around the tire. It's a good idea to try and get the chain centered. And what I mean by that is these vertical links here are in the center of the chain, that way try to get those on the center of the tire.

That'll ensure we're nice and centered here. You can inaudible 00:03:18 the chain around, like so. We'll take our top hook here, connect it to our yellow link. There is a couple extra links, which gives you a little adjustability from tires with more or less tread. Our particular Infiniti here uses the third link. And what we'll do is take our gray chain here and wrap it around our red tensioner. Trying to get some tension on it. And we'll run the end of our gray chain through these red hooks. Give it a good tug to remove all the slack and then connect our end to the furthest point, which would make the tightest fit. In this case, about right here. Give it a good look, make sure it looks good. It's always a good idea to get in your car after installing both chains, drive a short distance and hop out and check it to make sure everything looks good. That'll wrap up our Titan Chain alloy snow tire chain install on our 2015 Infiniti QX70.
