How to Install the Titan Cable Snow Tire Chain on a 2017 Toyota Corolla

Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Toyota Corolla, we're going to be taking a look at the Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chains, part number TC1034.The chains are made of a low carbon steel and the rollers give it a low profile design, so it's going to be smooth when you're going down the road. The ladder pattern assists with acceleration and stopping and they're also SAE class S chains, which are designed to work with wheel wells with limited clearance. These chains are designed for on-road use and have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles an hour. These chains come with a set of two and they also come with a storage bag, which is great for when they're not in use.Now the first thing you're going to want to do is you're going to want lay your chains out and check for any kinks, broken links or any damage. If you look on the end here, it'll say tire side and that's the side you're going to want to be against the tire. With everything looking good, we can go and take our chains and drape 'em over our tires.

Again, making sure you put the tire side down on the tire. And you want to try and get it as evenly as you can front to back and side to side. Now to make it a little easier for you to see as well as getting connected, I'm going to go ahead and start the car and turn the wheel. Now here in the back, you can see we have one end that has metal stops, another end that has a hook fastener. We're going to take our metal stops and we're going to insert them into the hook fastener and you're going to want to get 'em pretty snug but also keep in mind that we may have to come back and adjust after we get the front connected. Then with the excess, these give you another stop, put it in the hole and it'll keep everything nice and snug. Now we can go to the front and attach the front.

Here in the front, it's going to work the same way. Put the metal stops through, get it as tight as we can and then take the excess and put it here. Now as you can see, we still have a little bit of looseness in the tension in our chains. Now the manufacturer does recommend using a rubber tire adjuster and you can find one on our website using part number TCMA2. The way you use these is simply take the hook, make sure it's facing away from the tire and just start working your way connecting the chain. Now it is always a good idea to drive forward a few feet, get out, check your connections, make sure the tension is still good.

That'll finish out the look at the Titan Chains Cable Snow Tire Chains, part number TC1034 on our 2017 Toyota Corolla.
