Today on our 2014 Ford Escape, well be test-fitting the Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System, using part numbers THLB58, TH480, and THKIT1737. Well begin our test-fit by opening our front doors. Well grab the front bar and place it onto the front part of our roof. To ensure that we have this bar in the correct location, we need to measure twelve inches from the leading edge of the windshield to the closest point on our foot pack. Well do this measurement on both sides of the vehicle to ensure that our feet are in line with each other. Well then use the included tool to tighten down the Allen bolt on the inside of the foot pack. This will slowly start to secure our clamp around the roofline of our vehicle.
Well make our way from passenger side to driver side, tightening a little at a time, until we have both feet secure. Once we have both feet secure, we can slide the tool into the foot pack and close the cover. Well open our rear doors, grab our rear bar, and place it onto the rear part of our roof. To ensure that we have this bar in the correct spot, we need to measure twenty-eight inches from the center of our front bar to the center of our rear bar. Well do this measurement on both sides of the vehicle to ensure that our feet are in line with each other and that our bars are parallel. Once we have it in the correct spot, we can then repeat the same tightening process that we used for the front. Once we have those feet tight, we can slide the tools back into the foot pack and close the lid.
That will complete todays test-fit for the Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System, using part numbers THLB58, TH480, and THKIT1737 on our 2014 Ford Escape. .
