Review of the Thule Parkway 2 Hitch Bike Rack on a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Today were working with the 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe, and were going to be test fitting the Thule Parkway Two hitch mounted bike carrier, part number TH958. To mount the carrier to our vehicle well insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Well line up the hitch pin hole, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. Next we want to check for rear vehicle access. Well remove the pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt it down. We want to make sure that we can still open the cargo door completely and access the cargo area of our Santa Fe, even with the bike rack installed.

Next well put the bike rack back up and go over some clearance measurements. Weve got about 11 inches of ground clearance from the base of the bike rack to the ground. Weve got about a half inch of clearance between the closest part of the bike rack and the closest part of the vehicle. Overall weve added about 23 inches of length to the rear of our vehicle. Now were ready to load up a bike.

We need to undo the rubber straps at the cradles closest to the vehicle. Well pick up our bike, fit it over the arms of the bike rack and secure it with those rubber straps. With that done, were all loaded up and ready to hit the road. Thats it for our test fit of the Thule Parkway Two hitch mounted bike carrier, part number TH958 on our 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe. .
