Today on our 2013 Kia Sorento, well be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH990XT. To being our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, align up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the threaded pinholes and then tighten with a wrench. Now lets go over some clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle fit together. There is about ten inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about four inches. With the platform folded up, weve added about 11 inches to the overall length of the vehicle.
With the platform folded down, weve added about 30 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. To access the cargo area, well lift up on the grey handle located on the mast of the carrier and tilt the carrier down. This will allow you to have access to your cargo door. To load the bike, well unfold the mast, put the frame hooks to the top of the mast and undo the cradle straps. Well set the bike into the wheel cradles, adjust the frame hook tightly against the frame and then well secure it with the cradle straps.
