Review of the Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack on a 2012 GMC Acadia

Today on our 2012 GMC Acadia, well be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH990XT. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch tube, align up our threaded pin hole and well thread our anti-rattle bolt through our threaded pin hole and tighten with a wrench. Now lets go over some clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle fit together. There are about 17 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about three inches. Weve added about nine inches to the overall length of the vehicle.

To access the cargo area, lift up on the grey handle located at the base of the carrier and tilt the carrier towards you. This will allow you to have access to your cargo door. To load the bike, first put the mast in its upright position, put the frame hooks to the top of the mast and undo the cradle straps. Set the bike into the wheel cradles and tightly secure the frame hook against the frame and secure with the cradle straps. That concludes todays test fit for the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH990XT on our 2012 GMC Acadia.
