Review of the Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack on a 2013 Ford Escape

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Thule Apex Four Bike Carrier, part number th9025. Now with the included two inch adapter already installed on our bike rack shank, well slide the shank into the hitch and allow the integrated locking hitch pin to fall into the hitch pin hole. We can then move to the anti-rattle knob where well tighten it down securing our bike rack to the vehicle. Now with our bike rack secured well go ahead and give you a few measurements, our ground clearance here at the bike rack measures 12-1/2 inches and from the closet point of the bike rack here at the anti-rattle knob to the back of vehicle is one and half inches. Well now go ahead and pull the hitch switch here at the bottom of the bike rack mask to allow us to tilt the mask down and open the cargo door. As you can see with the mask down and the cargo door open we can still gain access to the cargo area with this bike rack secured to the vehicle.

Well now pull the hitch switch here at the top of the mask and bring out the dual arms where we can undo our straps to expose our cradles. Well place the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around securing our bike to the bike rack. There you have it our bike is loaded and were ready to head on down the road. That completes our test fit of the Thule Apex Four Bike Carrier, part number th9025 on our 2103 Ford Escape. .
