Review of the Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack on a 2012 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento well be test fitting part number TH9025, the Thule Apex four bike carrier. To begin our test fit well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch and allow the integrated locking hitch pin to fall into place. We can then move to the anti-rattle knob where well tighten it down, securing our bike rack tot eh vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few clearance measurements. Our ground clearance at the back of the bike rack measures 11 inches, and from the closest part of the bike rack at the anti-rattle knob to the closest part of the vehicle measure one and three quarter inches. Well now check for rear vehicle access.

Well pull the switch at the bottom of the mast and allow it to tilt down. We can then open our cargo door. As you can see we can gain full access to our cargo area with this bike rack secured to the vehicle. Were now almost ready to load our bike. Well need to put the bike rack back into its upright position and then pull the switch at the top of the mast to pull out the dual arms.

Then well undo the cradle straps nearest to the vehicle to expose our cradles. Well put the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around, securing our bike to the bike rack. Thats it, our bike is loaded and were ready to head on down the road. That completes our test fit of the Thule Apex four bike carrier, part number TH9025 on our 2012 Kia Sorento.
