Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX we'll be test fitting the Swagman XTC 4 platform style 2 bike rack. Part #S64665. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll thread in the anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 16 inches of ground clearance.
The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 2 1/2 inches away, and we've added about 10 inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now pull the silver pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt the rack down. And with the rack down we have about 23 inches of ground clearance at the back of the bike rack. The lowest point is about 15 1/2 inches away from the ground. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 10 inches away, and we've added about 42 inches to the overall length of our SRX. To load up a bike we'll unfold the mast by pulling the silver pin at the base of the bike rack. We'll raise the frame hook to the top of the mast, and then we'll undo the tray straps.
We'll place our bike into the wheel trays, adjust them if necessary to fit the distance of the tires, and clamp the frame hook down against the frame. We'll then secure the front and back tire with the rubber straps. With our bike all loaded up that will complete today's test fit for the Swagman XTC 4 part #S64665 on our 2012 Cadillac SRX. .
