Alright today on this 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, 8 foot bed, we are going to do a test fit of Swagman Bicycle Rack, part number s64702. Couple quick notes about this bicycle rack is that it mounts to the top of the truck bed, and can fit any size truck bed, and carries up to two bikes. And also there is a integrated lock that secures the rack to the truck bed. Pretty simple device lets go ahead and install it. You want to start off with the bike rack in its open position. You will see how it has a angle to it.
And this is the fork mount for the bicycles, and we have a ratchet on the other side that allows it to expand. Press the button, and it collapses. We will start off by putting the drivers side pad on the bed rail, and we will extend the other half. Once you have that accomplished all you have to do is make sure it is even, and then just push down in the center here and snap it down into place. Now that it is installed you can load up some bikes on it, and to lock it in place you push down this barrel lock in the center and its good to go.
So the whole thing is in by tension and is really hard to pop out. Lets go ahead and load up a bike. Lets go ahead and put our bike on this skewer, and just tighten it down, and with that thats all it takes to load your bike up into the truck. We will also try this with a mountain bike, with a disk brake fork and see how well that fits. Alright you can see with the disk brake mount and the valve at the bottom of the fork we have plenty of clearance for that and it mounts up just fine.
Okay and with that that will finish it for our quick test fit of Swagman Pick-up Rack 2 Bike Carrier, part number s64702 from Swagman on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. .
