Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Fork-Down roof mounted bike carrier, part number S64710. With a roof rack system already assembled and installed on the vehicle, we'll set the carrier onto the crossbars. It is important that the carrier is perpendicular to the crossbars, and parallel to the vehicle, to insure that the brackets have a proper fit onto the crossbars. We'll then start with the front of the carrier. We'll bring the brackets underneath the crossbar and use the included wing nuts to tighten it down and secure the front of the carrier to the vehicle. We will then move to the rear of the carrier, where we will, again, bring the bracket underneath the rear crossbar, and use the included wing nuts to tighten it down and secure it to the vehicle. Now with our carrier secured to the vehicle, we are ready to load our bike. To load our bike, we'll undo the rear strap and loosen up the skewer if necessary. We'll set our bike into the tray, slide the forks onto the skewer, tighten down the skewer to secure the front of the bike to the carrier, and then move to the rear of the carrier, where we will tighten down thewheel strap. That completes today's test fit for the Swagman Fork-Down roof mounted bike carrier, part number S64710, on our 2013 Ford Escape.
