Review of the Surco Hitch Cargo Carrier on a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Today were working with a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe and were going to be test fitting Surcos 24 inch by 60 inch cargo carrier, part number 52018. To mount the carrier to our vehicle well insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Well line up the hitch pin holes and secure the carrier with the pin and clip. Next we want to go over some clearance measurements. Weve got about 10 inches of ground clearance from the bottom of the carrier to the ground at the rear of our carrier. Overall weve added about 25 inches of length to the rear of the vehicle.

The carrier does slightly make contact with the bumper carrier at the rear of the vehicle, however its not enough contact to deform our bumper cover. Weve got about three inches of space between the exhaust tip on either side of the vehicle and the leading edge of our carrier. Keep this in mind when loading the cargo carrier, as heat transfer may cause damage to whatever you load on the carrier. Thats it for our test fit of Surcos 24 inch by 60 inch cargo carrier, part number 52018 on our 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe. .
