Review of the SportRack EZ Hitch Bike Rack on a 2012 Nissan Cube

Today on a 2012 Nissan Cube, we're going to do a test fit product number 830901 from SportRack. This is the 2 Bike EZ Hitch Mounted Rack. A couple of quick notes about this rack, that it will fit a 1-1/4 inch receiver hitches both class 1 and class 2. It will also work with class 3 receiver hitches with the included spacer. On this application, we'll be using a class 1 hitch. We'll go ahead and start by installing the bike rack into the hitch, tightening down the anti-rattle bolt and putting the safety pin on the other side.

We'll be using a 3/4 inch wrench to tighten down the bolt. Alright, next, we'll give you some measurements. As the closest point of the rear hatch to the rack, we're looking at 11 inches. From the lowest point on the rack to the ground, we're looking at 8-1/2 inches. To unfold the rack, we'll go ahead and pull out the pins and fold the arms down.

We'll reinsert the pins. We'll also take the center post and lower as well. Now, we can go ahead and check for access with the rack installed and unfold it. It looks like we can get full access to the rear of the vehicle. Now, let's go ahead and load up the bike.

First, we'll make sure our wheel straps are loose and we can load up the bike. When we had the bike into place, we can run it to the center post and lower the clamp onto the top tube. With the clamp in place, we can go ahead and move on to our wheel straps. We do this for both wheels. In just a few steps, our bike is loaded up and ready to go.

And with that, that will finish it for our test fit of the SportRack 2 Bike EZ Hitch Mounted Rack on our 2012 Nissan Cube.

This bike rack is no longer available. But the one that is very similar and that I would recommend is the Swagman XTC-2 part # S64670. It is also a 2 bike platform style bike rack that will work with both 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches. 48424
