Review of the SportRack EZ Hitch Bike Rack on a 2011 Ford Focus

Today on our 2011 Ford Focus, we'll be test fitting the SportRack 2 Hitch Mounted Bike Rack with Wheel Mount Cradles, product number A30901. With our vehicle already equipped with the 1-1/4 hitch and our bike rack already preassembled we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. We'll begin by inserting the bike rack shank into the hitch. We'll line up the hitch pin hole. We'll then insert our anti-rattle bolt. With our anti-rattle bolt tight we'll go ahead and insert our safety pin.

And now our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. At this point we'll give you a few measurements. From the bottom of the bike rack to the ground is 14 inches. From the closest point of the bike rack to the vehicle is 6 inches. Now we'll go ahead and fold the bike rack down and test our trunk access.

As you can see, we have full access to the trunk area. With our vertical bar in the down position and our wheel loop straps loose, we're ready to go ahead and load our bike. We'll set the bike into the wheel loops. We'll then move the vertical bar back up into position and lock it down using the top bar clamp. We do need to remember to install the safety pin into the vertical bar when it is in its upright position.

With the top bar clamped tight, we can go ahead and run our wheel straps down. And with that our bike is secured to the bike rack and we're ready to hit the road. And that completes our test fit of the SportRack 2 Hitch Mounted Bike Rack with Wheel Mount Cradles, product number A30901 on our 2011 Ford Focus.
