Today, we're working with the 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe and we're going to be test fitting the SportRack 2 Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier, Part Number A30901.To mount the carrier to the vehicle, we'll insert the shank of the carrier in the receiver tube with the hitch. We'll make sure to line up the hitch pinholes then insert our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it with a wrench. Next, we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We've got about 11-1/2 inches of ground clearance from the bottom of the bike rack to the ground. We have about 6 inches of clearance between the closest part of the bike rack and the closest part of the vehicle. Overall, we've added about 23 inches of additional length to the rear of the vehicle.
Now, we want to check for rear vehicle access, we'll fold the arms with the wheel trays down as well as the upright mast. We want to make sure we can open the cargo door and have complete access to our cargo area even with the bike rack installed. With that done, we'll put the upright mast back up so that we can load up the bike. We want to make sure that the frame arms are extended all the way out and that the straps on our wheel hoops are also open. We'll pick up our bike and inserted in the wheel hoops, and we'll secure it by fitting the hook around the frame and tightening it down.
We'll go back to the front and rear wheels then use our wheel straps to secure the wheels. With that done, we're all loaded up and ready to hit the road. That's it for our test fit of the SportRack 2 Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier, Part Number A30901 on our 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe.
