Today on our 2004 Buick Rendezvous, we'll be test fitting the SportRack Escape 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier for both 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches, part number A30901. Now using the included 2-inch adapter, we'll slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the back of the bike rack is 14-3/4 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle here at the wheel loop is 6 inches. We'll next go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform, and open our cargo door.
As you can see, we could still gain access to the cargo area with this bike rack secured. We're now almost ready to load our bike. We'll need only to make sure that our wheel loop straps are undone and out of the way and that the vertical bar clamps are fully extended. We'll place the bike into the wheel loops and bring our vertical bar up, remembering to reinstall the pin holding the bar in place. We can then bring the clamp over the top bar of our bike and secure the bike to the bike rack.
We'll move back down to the wheel loop straps where we'll put the straps through the wheel and secure them on the other side. That's it. Our bike is loaded and we're ready to head on down the road. That completes our test fit of the SportRack 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier, part number A30901, on our 2004 Buick Rendezvous.
