Today on our 2012 Kia Soul we'll be test fitting the Rocky Mounts tie rod roof mounted bike carrier, part number RKY1014. To mount our carrier to the vehicle we'll sit it up on top of our load bars. We'll fit the head of the carrier over our front part and feed the straps around the bottom side of the bar. We'll fit the strap ends back into the head and use the Allen key to tighten down the bolt. Then we can reinstall our head cover. At the rear we'll fit the clamp around the rear bar.
We'll thread in our Allen bolts and again use a wrench to tighten them down. With everything tightened in the front and rear we need to make sure that our wheel strap is undone at the rear of the carrier and that our skewer at the front of the carrier is open. We'll pick up our bike and sit the rear wheel into the tray. We'll fit the front fork down into the skewer and secure the bike first with the skewer. Then we'll move back and use the wheel straps to secure the rear wheel.
With that done our bikes all loaded up and were ready to hit the road. That's it for our test fit of the Rocky Mounts tie rod roof mounted bike carrier, part number RKY1014, on our 2012 Kia Soul.
