How to Install the PTC Custom Fit Engine Air Filter on a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic

Hey, everybody. Welcome to etrailer.com I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the PTC Custom Fit Engine Air Filter here on our 2019 RAM 1500 Classic. So, if you guys are looking for a way of just going ahead and making sure that your engine's getting that nice clean air that it needs, without any debris, this can be a really nice way of going ahead and doing so. So I go ahead and suggest, if you guys are about 10,000 to 15,000 miles in your vehicle and it hasn't been changed, might be the time to go ahead and check your filter. To do that, all we're gonna need to do, open up our hood just like so and start taking a look right here, and start popping it off. Let's go ahead and see how we can do that.

So in here, these little metal tabs right here, these springs really easy. Just push down here on your outer housing. That's gonna let these guys go off to the side, just like so. And then all we have to do is simply start lifting this, pushing it towards our driver's side, as we see some tabs here that we need to get past. And once that happens, you hear that little click.

That's gonna let me get access here. Now, you could go ahead, pop off of your tubing here, back off this nut, take your guy off here, but I don't think you really need to. All we have to do is simply get our finger in here, get our filter up, and start removing it. So there's our old filter. Here we can see it's pretty, as I'm doing that dust is flying at me.

Let's go ahead and grab our new one. Do a quick little comparison. So here's our new filter side-by-side with our old one. You can see our nice new white media perfectly clean. We're going to go ahead and just set it right here on the side.

But yeah, all that dirt and debris in there, you definitely don't want that. You can go ahead and toss that guy. We don't need him anymore. We've got this one, and can go ahead and take it. Simply open up our housing one more time. Be a little careful though. You don't need to pry it too much. We don't want to damage that hose on the other side. And I know this is a 2019, but if you start seeing a little bit of crack here on your hose and stuff like that, be really careful. We don't want to disrupt any of our vacuum system there. And man, we just need to go ahead. That's a good fit for ourselves. Then I'm checking on here too, making sure my seal isn't impacting where I want my housing to be. It looks like we're sitting there pretty well. Just feeling my hand on the other side, and make sure I have nothing in the way. And now all I have to do is re insert this by sliding our top, and bringing back in our metal tabs. Well guys, I think this is just a great little way of making sure that your engine has the right air that it needs without all that dirty debris getting in the way, especially as it starts to getting up in those years and in those miles, it can really be a hindrance to having a nice performance. But, other than that, I think that about does it for our look at the PTC Custom Fit Engine Air Filter here on our 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. I'm Bobby. Thank you for watching..
