Review of the Pro Series Q-Slot Hitch Bike Rack on a 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon

Today, on our 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon, we'll be test-fitting the Pro Series Q Slot Platform-Style Bike Carrier, part number PS63134. Now, with the included adaptor already installed on our bike rack shank, we'll slide the shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole and install our hitch pin. We'll then put the safety clip on the other side of the pin, which will secure our bike rack to the vehicle. Now, we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 14 1/2 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 5 1/2 inches. We'll now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our cargo door.

As you can see, with this bike rack secured to the vehicle, we can still gain access to our cargo area. We're now almost ready to load our bike. We'll need only to make sure that the wheel loop straps are undone and are out of the way and that our vertical bar clamps are fully extended. We'll place the bike into the wheel loops and bring our vertical bar up, remembering to reinstall the pin holding the bar in place. We can then bring the clamp down over the top bar of our bike, securing the bike to the bike rack.

We'll move back down to the wheel loops where we can put the straps through the wheel and secure them on the other side. That's it. Our bike is loaded and we're ready to head on down the road. That will do it for our test fit of the Pro Series Q Slot Platform-Style Bike Carrier, part number PS63134, on our 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon.
