How to Install the Longview Custom Towing Mirrors on a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado we're gonna be taking a look at, and also showing you how to install, the Long View Custom Towing Mirrors for the driver and passenger side. That's going to be Part Number LVT-1800.So, here I am at the back of our trailer, and you can clearly see me in the factory mirror. But if I step away you're going to lose track of me. That's where our towing mirrors going to come into play. It's going to give us a much wider field of view, and give us a safer experience when we're towing. Whether we need to change lanes, back our trailer up, or even pull up to the camp grounds. Now, our towing mirror is going to be a custom design.

So it's going to mold around our factory mirror and just slide into place. It's going to blend in nicely with the plastic construction. Our towing mirrors going to have a four inch by five inch mirror, and it's going to be manually adjustable to get that perfect angle when we're going down the road so we can make sure we can see everything nicely. Functions of our factory mirror, being able to adjust it and get that angle right as well. Even for those close quarter situations, we're going to be able to fold our mirror in.Now, our mirror's going to have an ABS plastic construction so it is going to blend in nicely with out mirrors.

We're not only going to rely on it sliding onto the mirror to hold it in place, we are going to have a turn knob that's going to hook around the other side and hold it nicely. That's going to prevent a lot of the rattling, and noise that's commonly associated with towing mirrors. Now that we've seen what one of our towing mirrors look like, let's go ahead and go to the other side and put the other one on together. So, to start our installation just want to mention that you can look at the mirror and you're going to know if you have the left or right side. 'Cause it's going to be labeled right there, LH for left hand. Now, it's going to have some nice padding that's not only going to protect our factory mirror, but it's also going to give it a nice secure grip and keep it from sliding around.

So we can take our mirror, and you're going to want to go around your factory mirror and just slide it into place. Now it's going to come with a hook that's got a threaded end on it, and we're going to take that hook, and we're gonna take the threaded end and put it through the end of our tow mirror. The hook is going to hook onto our factory mirror right here. Now if we move to the other side, we can grab our turn knob and you're going to want to line it up with that threaded post inside the mirror. We're just going to turn it so it's nice and tight. With our mirror secure we're ready to hit the road. That'll finish up your look at the Long View Custom Towing Mirrors for the driver and passenger side.
