How to Install the Longview Custom Towing Mirrors on a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Speaker 1: Today on our 2008 Chevy Silverado, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the long view custom towing mirrors, part number CTM1600. Here at the back of the trailer, you can see we have plenty of visibility in our factory mirror, but if we step outside, we lose that visibility but gain it in our towing mirror. Now, this is gonna help you when passing and parking. They're gonna give you full adjustability to give you the proper view. You got up and down, side to side, and diagonal. They're gonna fit around your factory mirror housing, and it won't interfere with the mobility of the factory mirror. It also is gonna allow you to fold your mirrors in when parking in a tight space.

This is held in place by hooks that are wrapped around the mirror, and they are adjustable. However, you do wanna check them overtime, because they may loosen. These mirrors also have foam pads and felt strip to help protect the factory housing. These are great because they come in a pair, and they're easy to install. Let's show you how to do that right now.First thing we need to do to install our mirror.

You need to make sure you have your mirror clean. We're just gonna take our mirror, slide it on till it's snug. Then we're gonna take this piece, slide it in through the back. We're gonna take this piece, and you wanna slide it in like that. Then you're gonna put on your retaining nut.

Put it on a couple turns, just to hold it in place. We're gonna take our hook, and we're gonna slide it through the other end. And again, install the retaining nut. Next we'll take our hook, put it around the edge of our mirror housing. Once you have that in place, you can go ahead and tighten everything up.

You don't wanna tighten this too tight because you don't wanna break anything. You just want it snug enough where it's gonna hold the mirror on. Now, your passenger side is gonna install the exact same way. That'll do it for the long view custom towing mirrors, part number CTM1600 on our 2008 Chevy Silverado.
