How to Install the Longview Custom Towing Mirrors on a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body

Today on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at the Longview original custom towing mirrors, part number CTM1600. This is your view from your factory mirror. With your new add-on mirror, you're going to get an extended view. As you can see, we've picked up quite a bit of distance on the side of our vehicle. Here's what it looks like once it's installed. You can see the adjustable thumb-screws to keep the tension on your mirror. Fits aerodynamically around your factory mirror. Gives it that OE look, with the same texturing that your factory mirror has. Many of our customers have said they've had these up at highway speeds and they have little to no vibration out of the mirrors.

As you can see, it's not going to affect the use of your factory mirror. It's completely on the outside ring of the mirror. If you have the factory turn signals in there, it's not going to affect any of that. These are fully adjustable, manually. Up and down, side to side.

Your breakaway feature still works on your vehicle, as it normally would. It's going to give you a width of five and a half inches and a height of four and three-eighths inches for the extra mirror. Let's go ahead and show you how to install it. We're going to go over to the passenger side, because we previously installed the driver side. We're going o take some mild soap, cleaning solution. We'll just wipe our mirror down, get any grit and grime off of it. As you can see, they're going to be marked, right hand and left hand, on the inside of the mirror case.

It's got a nice piece of felt here, and there's some foam to help tighten up our fit. Once we have it cleaned, take our flat J-bolt. It's going to go from the outside in, so it'll be flush on the outside. We'll slide our mirror over the original. Once we have that on, we'll set our other bracket, which is this little L-bracket...

Slide over. We'll start this one on. It's only going to go on about two or three threads. On this side, we're going to want the L-bracket to point with the hole to the top. We'll take out J-bolt and slide it in. We'll get this one started. We can slide it around the back side of the mirror. Then we can adjust our thumb-screws. That's going to take up our tension, pulling the mirror in. This one's going to take up the tension pulling to the outside, sandwiching it onto the factory mirror. Once you have it nice and snug, you're ready to hit the road and tow your trailer. That's going to do it for our look at an install of the Longview original custom towing mirrors for driver and passenger side, part number CTM1600, on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.
