Review of the Kuat NV Hitch Bike Rack on a 2006 Toyota Sienna

Today on our 2006 Toyota Sienna, well be test fitting the Kuat Aluminum Hitch Mounted Two Bike Rack with Wheel Mount Cradles. This is the Kuat NV, part number N101. To being our test fit, well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin holes and slide the hitch pin in. Well then move to the back of the shank and tighten the anti-rattle knob down securing the bike rack to the vehicle. With that done, well go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack measures ten inches.

From the closest point of the bike rack with the bike rack in the stored position to the back of the vehicle is two and a half inches. Well now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform with the platform down, weve added an additional 32 inches of overall length to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and open the cargo door and as you can see, we can still gain access to the cargo area with this bike rack secured to the vehicle. Were now almost ready to load our bike. Well need only to make sure that the front wheel clamp is full extended and out of the way.

Well also want to make sure that the rear wheel strap is undone and out of the way as well. Well place the bike into the wheel mounts and bring our front wheel clamp up, clamping it just before the front break caliper. Well move back to the rear wheel strap where well put the strap through the wheel and secure it on the other side of the rack. Thats it our bike is loaded. Now a great feature of the Kuat NV is its ability to fold the platform down with a bike loaded to allow for cargo access.

Thats it for our test fit of the Kuat NV, part number N101 on our 2006 Toyota Sienna. .
