Review of the Kuat Alpha Hitch Bike Rack on a 2008 Ford Edge

Today on our 2008 Ford Edge, well be test fitting the Kuat Alpha Folding Locking Three Bike Aluminum Bike Carrier for 1-1/4 hitches, part number A103-WHITE-114. Now to begin, well simply slide our bike shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our hitch pin. We can then move to the back of the bike rack shank where well tighten the knob down securing the bike rack to the vehicle. At this point, we can give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack measures 12-3/4s inches. From the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle here at the mast, measures 4 inches. We can now pull the pin here at the bottom of the mast which will allow us to tilt the mast down.

We can then open our cargo door. As you can see, with this bike rack secured to the vehicle, we can still gain access to our cargo area. Well now pull the pin here at the top of the mast and bring out our dual arms, where we can then undo the straps to expose our cradles. Well place the bike into the cradle and bring the straps around the bike securing our bike to the bike rack. Thats it, our bike is on, were ready to head on down the road.

That completes our test fit of the Kuat Alpha, part number A103-WHITE-114, on our 2008 Ford Edge. .
