How to Install the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror on a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be installing the K-source universal towing mirrors, part number KS3891. They also come in a pair with part number KS3891-2.As you can see, I'm clearly visible in our factory mirror, but as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible in our factory mirror, but I can be seen clearly in our universal towing mirror. This is especially useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes, and during parking maneuvers. This universal towing mirror features a convex shape, which is gonna give it a larger viewing area. It's also fully adjustable, both horizontally and vertically. While it's installed, your factory mirror can still be adjusted. The screw on the back can be removed, allowing the mirror to come out and be rotated horizontally, so you don't have to have it in the upright vertical position. The straps on the back feature thick rubber pads that'll help it stay in place and also prevent any scratches or abrasions on the back side of your mirror.

It uses a ratcheting strap design to hold it tight, has a locking cap, and an additional ratcheting lever and a release lever, making it easy to install and remove the mirrors. When adjusted properly, they won't interfere with the puddle lamp on your Silverado. This mirror's larger unique convex shape will give you a larger field of view than some of the other mirrors. Now you do have to remember that a convex shape is gonna affect how close an object may be behind you, but that extra field of vision can be particularly useful when merging and changing lanes. So compared to other mirrors, this one does give you a larger field of view, but it's still on the more economical side. We'll begin our installation by sliding the hooks on both the top and bottom on our factory mirror. We can then hook the straps onto the bottom hooks down below, and then tighten them. You can pull them tight, then you can also ratchet them into place to ensure that they're secure. And now we'll repeat that same process on the other side.

And that completes our installation of the K-source universal towing mirrors on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
