How to Install K Source Custom Towing Mirrors on a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban

Today on our 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, we're going to be doing an installation on the K-Source Custom Auto Towing Mirrors. This is the snap-on variety, part number is KS80900. Now, we're going to do our installation in real time, that way you can see just how easy it truly is to get these mirrors installed. We've got our box from etrailer here. We're going to open it up. Inside we're going to find a mirror, nicely packaged.

We're going to find instructions, a cardboard spacer that fits between the first mirror and our second mirror here. We'll set our box aside, pull out our mirrors. As you can see that one is for the passenger's side and this one is for the driver's side. We'll take a quick read through our instructions to be sure we know what we're doing. Then, we're going to take our driver's side mirror here which as you can see it's made of a nice black ABS plastic. It's made to fit the contours of your mirror perfectly.

This is going to help reduce any vibration as well as with the foam pads in here any scratching or anything like that that might happen with your mirror. Also it reallyhelps to eliminate wind noise. You've got a nice adjustable side view mirror here that helps you customize the exact view that you're looking for. Whether you're hauling a trailer, a boat, whatever the case may be, you'll be able to adjust that to easily and safely make your lane changes, back up into your parking spot or what have you. On the top of the mirror, there are three tabs. These three tabs are what we're going to connect first.

On the bottom, you can see that there's two tabs and one long clip that will clip around the underside of our mirror there. We'll take our mirror. We'll tilt it upwards. We want our three clips, one, two, and three to be on the front side of the edge of our mirror and then we can simply rotate it down. We'll push up on the bottom. Just like that I mean this thing is on your car and you're ready to hit the road.

As you can see, it doesn't obstruct your factory mirror at all. The vehicle has a power mirror system and there'd be no problem in operating your powered mirror, your blinker which is in your mirror and the auto-dimming feature all of those are still active. The only thing you're doing is improving your visibility when you're towing making it a safer adventure. The driver's side is on. That's all there is to it. Come on with me over here to the passenger's side. We've got our passenger's side mirror, you'll know because well it looks just like your passenger mirror does and we're going to repeat that same process. Rotate it up, slide it over. Again we want to make sure, this is the key one to get you started in the right direction that inside one, as long as that's clipped inside of your mirror there as you rotate this down, it's going to be very hard for you to do it incorrectly. We're just going rotate, rotate, rotate. Once it gets around here to the bottom we'll just give it a little squeeze and it clips right around that factory mirror nice and secure. It's solid. The thing is not going anywhere. It's a really nice mirror set up. Again, it's going to extend your line of sight. It's fully adjustable and also something I don't know even if the camera is going to be able to pick it up but right inside down here, right here there's a set screw so if your mirror ever becomes loose or wobbly or it kind of vibrates, it's losing it's position or whatever the case may be you can tighten up that set screw inside of there and that ball and socket and take care of it. It will firm it back up for you to where you won't have that issue any longer. That's it guys. I mean it can't get any simpler, no tools required. Read the instructions if you want but it's pretty self explanatory. What we're going to do now is take it out. We'll get some go pro footage 00:04:20 of it and let you see what it kind of looks like from the driver's perspective and exactly how much field of view it's going to add for you. That will complete our installation on our K-Source Custom Towing Mirror. This is for the 2007 Chevrolet Suburban and on up 00:04:50. It fits a wide variety of vehicles. You check our website for more details on that. It's part number is KS80900. .
