How to Install the K Source Custom Towing Mirrors on a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body

Today on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 new body style. We're going to be taking a look at the K-Source custom snap on towing mirrors. This is part number KS80900. That will include the driver side that we're looking at here and the passenger side. Here we can really see the advantage that the towing mirror is going to offer us. You see right now we're standing in our factory mirror.

We've got a pretty good field of view, but we lose it in this zone as we continue to step. That's where that towing mirror is going to continue to take over and really allow us to get a really wide, nice field of view so we can really get a good handle on what's going on with our trailer. As you can see, this is a durable ABS plastic towing mirror. It snaps right on to your factory mirror and it's a custom fit for each different vehicle. It's going to have a different mirror.

It goes right along with the factory lines, and really if you didn't know it wasn't a factory option you might not know this was a snap on mirror other than the tab. As you can see it's going to give us full ability to work our mirrors back and forth just like the settings and we're not going to have any interference here on the front side whether it's from blinkers, moving the angle of our mirror or anything like that. We're going to have added on here a scratch-resistant manually adjustable mirror face. Really nice set up. It's easy to move. There's a ball and socket inside that it's going to operate on.

It's probably impossible for you to see but right down here there's a little set screw and over time those tend to loosen up. All you have to do is just tighten that little screw right back up and you'll have that nice firm fit again if the mirror ever starts to kind of wander off from what you're used to seeing going down the road or if it starts to lose its setting. It's a really nice set up there. There large add on mirror face is really going to help out when we're hauling to help us get a good look at our trailer, whether it's backing into spots, changing lanes, trying to navigate through narrow roadways or in the back roads. You'll really be able to see exactly what's going on with your trailer. Now let's go over to the passenger side and we'll take a look at how these install.

To install we're just going to simply place the mirror right up onto our other mirror, stretching our tabs out around the front lip. As you can see they put a couple foam pads in here. This is going to take up any of the room, also protect our mirror from abrasions as we're going down the road. Also helps to keep this from vibrating or making any kind of wind noise. You'll want to make sure you've got your mirror clean. You don't want any grit or any sand or anything like that on there that might abrade your mirror outside of just the foam patches that we have here. If something gets in between there it might cause a scratch. What we'll do is just kind of line this up behind our mirror. It's just going to kind of go right around there. Get these three on the top started and then kind of push down and squeeze in on this bottom and that'll clip right around that edge so you're going to have three points of contact here in the top holding it in place, plus the one long one here on the bottom really gives us a nice secure fit. That mirror's not going to go anywhere that our factory mirror's not as you can see there. It's a good set up. Easy to install, completely tool free. That's going to complete today's look at the K-Source snap on custom towing mirrors, driver and passenger side, part number KS80900 on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 new body style. .
