Today on our 2008 Ford Edge well be test fitting part number HR310, the Hollywood Racks Road Runner three bike carrier for inch and a quarter hitches. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of our bike rack into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our hitch pin. We can then move to the back of the shank where well tighten the knob down, securing our bike to the vehicle. At this point well give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack is 12 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle here at the mast is two and three quarter inches. Well next pull the pin here at the base of the bike rack and tilt the mast down.
We can then open our cargo door. As you can see we can gain access to the cargo area, even with this bike rack secured to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and undo this knob and bring out the anti-sway bar. With the bar out well go ahead and tighten the knob back down. Well move up the mast where well pull the pin to bring out the dual arms.
Well place our bike into the cradles and bring the straps around, securing our bike to the bike rack. Well then use the straps to further secure the bike, looping it through the anti-sway bar and back up to itself. Thats it, our bike is loaded and were ready to hit the road. That completes our test fit for the Hollywood Racks Road Runner three bike carrier for inch and a quarter hitches, part number HR310 on our 2008 Ford Edge.
