Today, on our 2008 Nissan Frontier, we'll be test-fitting the Draw Tite Ball Mount, part number 2923. Now, the first thing we want to do is measure our hitch height. That's from the ground to the inside top of our receiver tube. Our Frontier has a hitch height measurement of 17 inches. Now, keep in mind that this measurement will vary some even within 2008 Frontiers. Variances in tires, exact model type, and aftermarket parts, even the hitch itself, will determine the hitch height, so make sure you measure your particular vehicle.
First of all install the ball mount into drop position. We'll insert the shank of the mount into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the hitch pinholes and secure it with the standard 5/8 inch pin and clip. Now, this mount offers a two-inch drop so when we measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform, we'll get a measurement of 15 inches. If your trailer height measures from the bottom of the coupler to the ground at 15 inches, then this would be an appropriate ball mount to use. Now, we'll flip the ball mount over into the rise position.
It offers the 3/4-inch rise so that it will put our ball platform height at 17 3/4 inches. Again, if that's where your trailer height measures, then this would be the right ball mount to use. That's it for our test-fit of the Draw Tite Ball Mount, part number 2923, on a 2008 Nissan Frontier. .
