How to Install the DeeZee Custom Fit Truck Bed Mat on a 2012 Ram 1500

Hey everybody, Clayton here at etrailer.com. Here at etrailer we install, test, and review a lot of different products to help you as a customer make a more educated decision before your purchase. Today, we're gonna be working on a 2012 Ram 1500. We're going to be taking a look at. And I'll be showing you how to install the DZ truck bed mat. Now using a truck bed mat is going to be a really nice upgrade.

Not only is it going to protect the bed of our truck whether it's lined or not. I know a lot of guys tend to use these when they don't have a spray in liner, but really I like these no matter what just to help protect your bed and anything you might be putting in it. 'Cause whenever we're using the tonneau cover more often than not, we're putting expensive items back here. So we want to keep those protected. Our bed mat is going to be custom fit to fit our Ram.

Whether you have a quad cab, a regular cab, long bed. Anything like that, you can get these custom fit to fit your vehicle in particular just using your fit guide here at etrailer. Now this bed mat is going to be very durable. It's going to be made out of a three-eighth inch thick Nyracord, so it's going to be nice and strong as you can see that's really thick. In all these ridges line up with the ridges in our bed.

So that's going to be pretty nice as well. It's going to keep it from sliding around and it has these little nubs on the backside to keep that in place. So you're not gonna have to worry about this, moving around whether you're putting bricks or anything back here like that, that's going to shift. Like I said, this stuff is pretty thick so I'm not going to have to worry about it if we just want to throw stuff in there. It's going to protect the bed of our truck.

Now, when it comes time to clean your bed mat it's going to be super simple. Simply just pull it out, hose it down, you can wash it down with soap and water if you'd like. Dry it off and throw it right back in the bed of your truck, it's going to clean up a lot like your floor mats. Now the rubber is a little hard. So it's going to do a really good job of protecting our bed. But if you do have a spray in liner, like I already do maybe you want something a little bit softer. You can find the bedrock in a couple of other options here at etrailer. To begin our installation, we want to get our bed mat out of the packaging and lay it out flat so that all those roll marks can get straightened out. Now you can do this just by laying it on the ground in the sun, or if you want to be a little bit faster you can always add weight to the corners. Now, whenever we pick it up we just want to kind of pinch the sides together just to make it a little bit easier to work with. And then we can do that again. Once we get that up in the bed and just kind of work it into the bed of our truck. Then you come over to the sides, just kind of pull that forward, and get it close to being in the right spot just bouncing back and forth between each side. Then once we get that in place, we just want to check our alignment around all of our corners. In this case, we're good. So you just want to make sure that our tailgate closes. There's plenty of room there. So that's pretty much going to do it for our installation. All in all adding a bed mat to the back of your truck is going to be an awesome upgrade. This is actually my personal vehicle. I use this for a lot of different things. I have a lot of fishing stuff back here, hunting gear, anything like that. So it's going to be really nice to protect our items and protect our bed in the process. That's pretty much going to do it for our look at the DZ bed mat on our 2012 Ram 1500..
