Today on our 2012 Jeep Liberty, we'll be test fitting the Curt Tri Ball Mount with Hollow 2-inch Shank, part number C45001. Now to begin our test fit, we'll first need to get our hitch height measurement. This is the measurement from the inside top edge of the receiver tube to the ground. Now in our vehicle, that measurement is 20 inches. Now, keep in mind. That measurement can change due to tire change, hitch style, or any other accessory that may change your vehicle's ride height so it's a good idea to measure yours.
We'll now take the drawbar. Slide it into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and using the pin and clip we'll secure it in place. Now, this mount is a straight shank so each of the three balls will measure the same as our hitch height measurement at 20 inches. This drawbar will allow you to tow a trailer using a 1-7/8-inch ball, a 2-inch ball, or 2-5/16-inch ball depending on the needs of the trailer coupler. All we'll need to do to switch between balls is to remove the shank from the hitch, rotate, so that the correct ball is facing up.
Reinstall it and using the pin and clip, secure it in place. That will complete our test fit of the Curt Tri Ball Mount with Hollow 2-inch Shank, part number C45001, on our 2012 Jeep Liberty.
