Review of the Curt Folding Aluminum Cargo Carrier on a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe


Today on our 1005 Chevrolet Tahoe well be test fitting the Curt 20 by 60 folding aluminum cargo carrier for two inch hitches, part number C18100. Now to begin our test fit well go ahead and slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install out hitch pin. We can then put the clip on the other side of the pin which will secure the cargo carrier to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the shank of our cargo carrier is 13 inches. With the cargo carrier folded up from the closest point of the carrier to the back of the vehicle is approximately 2 inches.

Well now go ahead and pull the pin which will allow us to unfold the cargo carrier platform. With the platform down from the closest point of the platform to the back of the vehicle is 8 inches. With the cargo carrier installed weve added an additional 28 inches of overall length to the vehicle. Now when opening the cargo door on our Tahoe it does break over the cargo carrier platform at approximately 21 inches. Now the exhaust on this vehicle does exit the passenger side just behind the rear tire so there should be no heat transfer from the exhaust to the platform.

That completes our test fit of the Curt 20 by 60 folding aluminum cargo carrier for two inch hitches, part number C18100, on our 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe.
