Review of the Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier on a 2013 Ford Escape

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape well be test fitting the Curt 20 by 48 cargo carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number C18145. Well slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight, our cargo carrier is secured to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. From the closest part of the carrier to the back of the vehicle measures two inches, and the cargo carrier will add an additional 21 inches of overall length to the vehicle. Our ground clearance here at the back of the carrier measures 11 inches, and the exhaust on this vehicle does exit both the passenger as well as the drivers side here at the rear bumper.

It is approximately five inches from the carrier and is directly in line with the platform itself. Now when opening the cargo door it does break over the cargo carrier platform at about 15 inches. That completes our test fit of the Curt 20 by 48 cargo carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number C18145 on our 2013 Ford Escape.
