Review of the Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier on a 2012 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento we'll be test fitting the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number C18145. Now to begin our test fit, using the included two inch adapter, we'll slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight our cargo carrier is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. From the closest part of the carrier to the back of the vehicle measures two inches. The cargo carrier will add an additional twenty-two inches of overall length to the vehicle.

Our ground clearance at the back of the carrier measures ten and a half inches, and exhaust exits on the passenger's side of the vehicle at the rear bumper. It is approximately seven inches from the cargo carrier, and is directly in-line with the carrier platform itself. Keep this in mind as the heat from the exhaust could damage any heat sensitive items.
