Today on our 2012 GMC Sierra well be test fitting the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount for 2-inch hitches part number AMSC4. Now before we begin our test fit we will first need to obtain the hitch height for our vehicle. This is the measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube and ours is about 18 inches. Now to begin our test fit in the draw position well insert the shank of the ball mount into the hitch, line up our hitch pin hole and put our pin through the hitch pin hole and secure it with a clip. Well then measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform and get a measurement of 14 inches. Now for your trailer ride height which is the measurement from the ground to the bottom of the coupler while your trailer is level matches ours this will be an appropriate ball mount for you.
Now well go ahead and flip the ball mount over into the rise position and again, measure from the top of the ball platform to the ground. Our measurement is 15-1/4 inches. If your trailer ride height matches this measurement then this would be an appropriate ball mount for you.
